How it Works

What you need now is ease. I’m here to help simplify the process as you begin your journey.

Step One

Schedule a Free 15-Minute Video Consultation

Finding the right therapist is an important step, which is why I offer a free 15-minute video consultation. You can schedule the consultation directly through this website. Once you schedule a time that works with your schedule, you will receive a link to our secure client portal and the video visit link.

The client portal lets you:
*Send me secure messages.
*Manage appointments.
*Handle billing for future sessions.


During the consultation, we’ll discuss your concerns and answer any questions, and assess whether this is the best fit for your needs. If not, I’ll provide referrals to help you find the right support.

Step Two

Your Intake Appointment

Before your first session, you’ll review some consent forms and complete a few brief questionnaires in the client portal. The questionnaires help us get some background information and a baseline of your symptoms. You are welcome to share as much or as little as you’d like.


In the intake session, we’ll:
*Explore your concerns more in depth.
*Explore your goals or help you identify them if you’re unsure.
*Create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs.

I’ll also review our practice policies, answer your questions, and discuss anything you’d like to expand on from the forms.

Step Three

Ongoing Therapy

Therapy typically begins with weekly sessions for the first few weeks to help us build a strong foundation. These initial sessions are about getting to know each other, understanding your experiences, and identifying the areas where you want to grow, heal, or find relief. We’ll work together to develop strategies and explore solutions that align with your goals and values.

As we progress, we’ll adjust the frequency of sessions to fit your needs. This might mean continuing weekly, transitioning to biweekly, or scheduling periodic check-ins as your symptoms stabilize or your goals evolve. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.

Therapy is an investment in your well-being, helping you regain balance, resilience, and clarity as you navigate life’s transitions. 

Just like in airplane safety, you need to put on your own oxygen mask before helping others. Therapy is an investment in yourself, ensuring you have the strength to support those around you.

Insurance

While I am an out-of-network provider, many insurance plans offer reimbursement for therapy. To make this process easier, I’ve partnered with Mentaya to help you maximize your out-of-network benefits. Use the tool below to check your eligibility, or contact your insurance provider directly for details. Using Mentaya for reimbursement is entirely optional, and it won't affect your therapy service quality or availability. I, as your therapist, do not benefit from your choice to use Mentaya. My goal is to support your well-being.


Frequently Asked Questions

  • All sessions are conducted online through a HIPAA-compliant video platform. You’ll receive a secure link after scheduling your appointment.

  • During the consultation, you can share what’s bringing you to therapy, ask any questions, and get a sense of whether we’re the right fit for each other. If it feels like a match, we’ll schedule your first session. If not, I’ll provide you with referrals and resources to help you find the support you’re looking for.

  • The first therapy session is called an intake appointment. Before your session, you’ll complete some paperwork through an online portal, including medical history and consent forms. During the intake, we’ll discuss your concerns, explore therapy options, and develop a collaborative plan to help you meet your goals. If you’re not sure what your goals are, that’s okay—we’ll figure it out together. We can continue to revisit your goals, and modify the treatment plan together as needed.

  • Finding the right therapist is about more than credentials—it’s about connection. In our first few sessions, notice how you feel: Do you feel comfortable and supported? It’s okay if it takes time to decide. If I’m not the right fit, I’ll gladly help you find someone who is. Your comfort and progress are my priority.

  • The length of therapy depends on your goals and symptoms. Some people benefit from short-term, goal-oriented sessions, while others prefer ongoing support. Together, we’ll determine a schedule that works for you.

  • I am out of network with all commercial insurance plans. Many plans offer reimbursement for therapy services, depending on your out-of-network benefits. You are welcome to contact your insurance company to verify your benefits. Some helpful questions to ask about your coverage (for both in-network and out of network coverage) includes:

    1. Coverage for out-of-network behavioral health services

    2. Out-of-network deductible and reimbursement rate

    3. Steps for submitting claims

    It is entirely up to you whether you would like to utilize your out of network benefits. If you choose to use out of network benefits, I can provide a monthly Super Bill for you to use to submit the claim. To simplify the process of accessing out of network benefits, I partner with Mentaya- a company that submits insurance claims on your behalf and can get you reimbursed 50-80% for therapy using “out of network benefits.” To see if you qualify you can just enter the info from your insurance card in their calculator using THIS link.

    Mentaya have a team of support and insurance specialists who can dig in to any question you have and they are really responsive. Just email support@mentaya.com with any questions.

    Using Mentaya for reimbursement is entirely optional, and it won't affect your therapy service quality or availability. Imdo not benefit from your choice to use Mentaya. My goal is to support your well-being.

  • Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session fee. Please notify me as soon as possible if you need to reschedule.

  • You can reschedule directly through the patient portal or contact me via phone or secure message.

  • Generally we start with weekly sessions for the first few appointments to ensure you have a good foundation of tools, then adjust as needed. Some people benefit from a few targeted sessions, others continue with weekly or bi-monthly therapy. Once symptoms are stable, we can move to monthly, check-in as needed, or develop a plan that aligns with your needs. We can continue to assess and modify as needed.
